The Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Scholarship in AI Excellence at MBZUAI, established in 2025, is a global platform for academic excellence in artificial intelligence. Created through the vision of His Highness Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Ruler of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Technology Council (AIATC), the Scholarship reflects His Highness’ enduring commitment to advancing AI as a transformative force for innovation, education, and human progress.
Realized through MBZUAI, the Scholarship cultivates the next generation of leaders, by supporting outstanding undergraduate students. The program provides the academic foundation and community through which His Highness’ values of excellence, curiosity, and service to humanity are expressed and advanced.
Open to prospective undergraduate students from the UAE and around the world, applicants are eligible for nomination once they have fulfilled all admission requirements and secured full-time enrollment into MBZUAI’s undergraduate program. The scholarship supports successful applicants through their full four-year experience at MBZUAI.
The Scholarship Committee at MBZUAI considers students with an extraordinary track record of achievement in various domains, including but not limited to:

Global recognition in music, arts or sports
